Today I have a fun topic to share *hehehe menurut madi*
Get ready for MY VERY FIRST HALLOWEEN \(¨^¨)/\(¨^¨)/

Even Halloween isn't "really" Swedish tradition because it was affected by American, but Swedes still celebrate it (even it's not as big as in USA). As we know, Halloween always celebrated on October 31th (annual event).

Fortunately this year Madi get an invitation for "Halloween Fest" from my friend's host-sister and of course I said yes ;)
Even it's just a little dinner party for us but it's still mean so much to me.

That's all my first Halloween. After eating taco, we continue to watch movie and all decide to watch "Maleficent" (which I've already watch it for 2 times:)) But, it was fun tho. Then, going back home with subway but still with the costume and make-up. OMG it was so fun to see people looking at me HAHA I'M FAMOUS....emm no. But, when people look at me and starring at me, it's kinda hilarious because they don't know who I am *mulai sok misterius*

Swedish Tradition (part 2)

YEAH I'M EXCITED TO THROWBACK AGAIN HAHAHA
Hope you enjoy while reading my little journal *ketawa ngarep*

Talking about tradition and culture is fun for me. Why? Because, if we comparing each other especially between Indonesia and Sweden, it's quite easy to see the differences. BUT here I am not to judge *camkan ya* I'm standing here for learning, observing, accepting and connecting all of the differences :) "It's not good or it's not bad. It's just different".

Today I'll share something about FOOD which is really interesting, rite?
So, Swedes celebrate CINNAMON BUN'S DAY or in Swedish it's called KANELBULLENS DAG every year on October 4th.

Fortunately, I got this opportunity to bake this bun with my host-mom. She teaches me and let me to participate. Yeah, my first time to baking. (SERIOUSLY)

Swedish Tradition (part 1)

Hai semuanya :)

Today I'll tell you a little about CRAYFISH PARTY. Which is in Swedish is called KRÄFTSKIVA. This is one of Swedish Culture that I participated with. Yuhuuuu enjoy to read ;)

Okay, Swedes usually celebrate Crayfish Party in August. Fortunately, I get the opportunity to celebrate this with my host-family and also with the neighborhood.

NOTE :

1. Eat a lot of crayfish. As much as you can.

2. Eat, sing, eat again, and sing again. WHAT? So, there's a time that we supposed to stop eating and singing the "special" song together, after finished the song they will scream the words "cheers" but in Swedish so it's become SKÅL. It happens again a few time. Confusing yet impressing.

3. Talk a lot. Let it be noisy :p

4. Don't forget the "man in the moon" decoration. He is funny tho with his big smile. Here is the pic.

5. We also eat another foods like many kind of pie, bread with butter and cheese. Of course, at the last, there's a dessert time :9

S C H O O L

Special for this entry I will try to use Indonesienglish. HAHAHA cekidot.

Okay, let's start.

I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT SWEDISH SCHOOL. Of course I am. (Yaiyalah madi gak tau, kan selama ini sekolahnya di Medan-_-)

Madi's school is called "Norra Real" which is placed in Roslagsgatan 1 and fortunately it's only take 5 minutes by subway and 10 minutes walk to reach T-Centralen (pusat kota) so sometimes I take a walk for a while after school and it's totally fun to see a lot of people and things there.

My first word that I said when the first time I saw this school is : WOOOOOW. Believe it or not, because this old building was really attract  me. 

Most of the time I used this door which is 

placed in the behind part of school

MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

It's August 22nd 2014 and I still remember the first time I go there, my host-father and one of the AFS Volunteer accompany me. I was so nervous and a little bit afraid. That day  is one of the most important day of my life. I met my new classmates, my mentor (his name is Rasmus) and my teachers. I think my first day is not that bad ;)

Now, let's talk about the differences. 

1. Swedes Don't Use Uniform.

For girls : You can dress like you will going in a catwalk (re: fashionable) or maybe the simple one. You can paint your nails, highlight your hair, use make-up. You decide.

For boys : You can use your suit and tie to school, long or short pants. You can let your hair grows long because no one care and want to cut it ;) #ifyouknowwhatimean
For Teachers : OMG They use shirt and jeans which is really comfortable and relax to see. Even the headmaster also use the same thing.

2. Free School Lunch

Alhamdulillah school lunch is free and I don't have to spend money for this thing HEHE. In Norra Real, foods always devide in two : Normal and Vegetarian. School's menu change everyday and most of the time it tastes good.

PS : Finally here in Sweden, I can have lunch with pancake, hamburger, spaghetti, etc. (macam bule-bule itulah pokoknya:'))

3. Flexible School Time

It's totally different here because school time is not that strict. Madi has different schedule every day. With 3 lesson a day (the maximum one).

PS : Right now , Madi placed in the senior year and they said on the last year school is more relax (I mean you don't have that many subject if compares with the first and the second grade)

4. Only Weekdays

So on weekend it's totally free of school. Katy Perry's "THANKS GOD IT'S FRIDAY" song sounds even better here :))

5. Just Call Their Name
What? Seriously? Yes, just call your teacher with their first name :) No need to mention Mister, Miss, or Madame.

6. Do What You Want To Do
In this part I'll explain in Indonesian HEHE
Gaktau kenapa ya disini duduk juga bebas mau posisinya gimana alias PW (Posisi Wuenak). Bahkan duduk di atas meja juga boleh selagi gurunya nerangin pelajaran :o makan atau minum juga boleh asalkan jangan mengganggu. Sempat tekejut juga...tapi ya memang seperti ini adanya :)

So here they are the things that I want to share about my experience as an exchange student in Swedish school. Hope everything will be great here. Wish me luck ;)
